No More Room in Hell 2 Maps: All 9 Maps & Difficulty
NMRIH2 1.0 ships with nine maps: six Objective maps that run a linear chain of CRC tasks toward a timed extraction, and three compact Survival maps where you defend speaker systems through three waves. The easiest start is Lewiston (Objective) or Flooded (Survival); the hardest is Power Plant. Every map, its setting, objectives and release date is below, followed by the official extraction-rate data that backs the difficulty calls.
The 6 Objective maps
Power Plant
Setting: Berks County, Pennsylvania — rural: radio stations, farmhouses, gas station, field hospital, sawmill, train station. Night.
Released: Oct 22, 2024 (Early Access launch map)
Objectives: Disable the plant's gate security from a laptop at one of several points of interest (Field Hospital, Sluice Gate, Train Station, Checkpoint, Sawmill, Ranger Station), push into the plant, seal gas clouds, restore power.
'By far our largest map'. 1.0 removed the Bio-Scanner opening scenario and scales stash-room loot to squad size. Historically the lowest extraction rate.
Pottsville
Setting: Small rural town, Pennsylvania. Foggy morning.
Released: Apr 15, 2025 (Reanimation 0.4.0)
Objectives: Verify civilian shelter reports: search randomised houses for tools and parts, fix a transformer, radio-tuning mini-game, Community Center gym holdout, open the Midtown and Downtown gates, antenna upload, tune the radio before the helicopter arrives.
1.0 added the radio-tuning beat before extraction. A brand-new alternate scenario is planned for the September 2026 update.
Lewiston
Setting: Lewiston, Maine — small town at sunset with randomised stores.
Released: Apr 15, 2025 (Reanimation 0.4.0)
Objectives: Assist local CRC leader Waldo, retrieve hard drives and upload them in the Library, Bio-Scanner opens the chapel, train-tunnel puzzle, power finale, extract by boat or by train.
Squads spawn in groups of up to five. Highest new-player extraction rate of any Objective map in the official May 2026 data. More objective permutations coming in September.
Broadway
Setting: Queens, New York (Broadway & Roosevelt) — dense urban. Night.
Released: Jul 15, 2025 (0.5.0)
Objectives: Diner holdout, Clinic lockdown, Stoke the Fire, Courthouse C4 breach, Movie Theatre, collect electrical parts and data drives, Clear the Tracks; extract by helicopter fast-rope or train.
'Fast-paced, high-pressure'; a homage to the original game's two Broadway maps. Tight streets favour shotguns.
Beaulieu Hospital
Setting: Manhattan, NYC — large multi-storey hospital with a courtyard. The first daytime map; wards randomise.
Released: Oct 27, 2025 (0.7.0)
Objectives: Get in, secure the location, collect research: Bio-Scanner objectives in the North and South wings, ventilation and air-filter parts, final Morgue holdout with bio-scanners.
Achievement text uses the short name 'Hospital'. Second-lowest new-player extraction rate.
Raven Rock
Setting: Mountainous southern Pennsylvania — an underground military bunker.
Released: Aug 11, 2026 (1.0 Armageddon)
Objectives: Investigate the fates of emergency operations personnel inside the bunker. Torn Banner deliberately withheld the objective list and describes 'a different flow than any location prior'.
The sixth Objective map and the only one with no pre-1.0 data. Corridors make the X12 Super dominant.
The 3 Survival maps
| Map | Setting | Released |
|---|---|---|
| Flooded | Storm-hit industrial complex in rural Pennsylvania, next to the Power Plant. Multi-floor buildings, cargo containers, machinery; standing groundwater makes kills hard to confirm and dry loot rare. | Previewed in the April–May and June 2026 free weekends; full release Aug 11, 2026 |
| Lighthouse | Coastal cliffside lighthouse with a small neighbourhood and abandoned construction. 'Fight the masses with your back against the wall'; tight interiors 'could lead to quick deaths'. | Aug 11, 2026 |
| Night of the Living Dead | Rural farmstead — farmhouse, guest house and barn. A remake of the classic NMRiH map, expanded so you defend the whole property. | Aug 11, 2026 |
How Survival plays: a short prep window and a supply drop, then hold a speaker for 5 minutes per wave across 3 waves, with supply drops between them and three points of interest per map. Clear all three waves and a helicopter extracts you; fail two waves and early extraction opens instead. Hotfix 1.0.4.0 added a final respawn at the end of wave 3.
Which maps are hardest? The official numbers
There is no official per-map difficulty rating, but Torn Banner published extraction rates after the May 2026 free weekend. Columns are Casual / Classic / Hard / Nightmare (the pre-1.0 names); the left column is new players during the free weekend, the right is regular players afterwards.
| Map | New players | Regular players |
|---|---|---|
| Flooded (Survival) | 87% / 72% / 80% / 74% | — |
| Lewiston | 70% / 49% / 68% / 83% | 90 / 91 / 92 / 93% |
| Pottsville | 67% / 43% / 63% / 65% | 89 / 89 / 92 / 88% |
| Broadway | 68% / 37% / 57% / 66% | 89 / 85 / 89 / 89% |
| Beaulieu Hospital | 55% / 21% / 41% / 48% | 86 / 82 / 86 / 82% |
| Power Plant | 49% / 18% / 35% / 46% | 84 / 78 / 81 / 76% |
Reading: for new players Flooded and Lewiston were the most-extracted maps, Power Plant and Hospital the least; experienced squads extract 76–93% everywhere, so the gap is a learning curve rather than a wall. Raven Rock, Lighthouse and Night of the Living Dead post-date this data, and 1.0 rebalanced difficulty afterwards. Steam's global completion achievements (September 7, 2026) tell a popularity story more than a difficulty one: the six Objective maps sit between 13.7% (Power Plant) and 15.0% (Broadway), the Survival maps at 4.7–7.0% — Lighthouse's figure is deflated because its achievement was bugged until hotfix 1.0.4.0.
Map selection, rotation and what is coming
- Public queue: you choose the goal (Objective or Survival) and your Responder; the CRC assigns the map. Developers tune how often each map appears server-side without a patch.
- Private lobby: the squad leader picks the map and difficulty — the only way to practise one map with friends. See how squads and crossplay work.
- Per-map achievements (Normal or higher): Emergency Response (Power Plant), Pott Head (Pottsville), Rail or Sail (Lewiston), To the Five Boroughs (Broadway), Beautiful Place (Hospital), While the Rest of Us Die (Raven Rock), When it Rains, it Pours (Flooded), Guiding Light (Lighthouse), They're Coming to Get You, Barbara! (Night of the Living Dead).
- September 2026 update: new objective permutations for Lewiston and a brand-new scenario for Pottsville, per the August 20 developer blog; more Survival maps are teased and a Hell Mode is planned before the end of 2026.
Maps FAQ
- How many maps are in No More Room in Hell 2?
- Nine in the 1.0 Armageddon release: six Objective maps (Power Plant, Pottsville, Lewiston, Broadway, Beaulieu Hospital, Raven Rock) and three Survival maps (Flooded, Lighthouse, Night of the Living Dead). Torn Banner has teased more Survival maps and a Hell Mode before the end of 2026.
- What is the easiest map for beginners?
- Lewiston for Objective mode and Flooded for Survival. In Torn Banner's free-weekend data (May 2026), new players extracted from Lewiston 70% of the time on Casual and from Flooded 87%, against 49% for Power Plant. Officially, the recommended starting point is Beginner difficulty plus the Tutorial and Solo Mode rather than a specific map.
- What is the hardest map?
- Power Plant, followed by Beaulieu Hospital. Both are the largest maps and had the lowest extraction rates at every difficulty in the official data. Raven Rock has no comparable data yet.
- Can you choose the map in NMRIH2?
- Only in private lobbies, which have a map selector and a difficulty choice. In public matchmaking you pick the overall goal (Objective or Survival) and the CRC assigns the mission; the developers weight how often each map appears server-side.
- What are the map difficulties in 1.0?
- Beginner (timed respawns every minute), Normal (respawns after major objectives), Hard and Nightmare (permadeath from the moment you spawn unless you carry a Rescue Beacon). Casual and Classic were renamed to Beginner and Normal for 1.0.
- Is there a Kulon or Lockdown map?
- No. Neither name is a No More Room in Hell 2 map in any official source; 'Kulon' appears only on the fan wiki as the name of the virus in the series' lore.
