1.0 Armageddon Update Guide — Everything New

Released August 10, 2026. After nearly 2 years and 16 content updates in Early Access, No More Room in Hell 2 launched to 1.0 with a full progression wipe, veteran rewards, and the biggest content drop in the game's history.

New Features

NEW Game Mode: Survival

Speakers attract waves of zombies away from population centers. Arrive with a few minutes to loot and build defenses, then hold out for 5 minutes per wave against 3 total waves. Each area has traps and defensive options; supply drops arrive between waves. Succeed all 3 waves and a helicopter extracts you - fail 2 waves and early extraction opens instead.

3 New Survival Maps

Flooded (industrial complex in rural Pennsylvania where groundwater makes zombies hard to confirm slain), Lighthouse (a beacon atop a cliffside), and Night of the Living Dead.

NEW Objective Map: Raven Rock

A tight new objective map - shotguns like the X12 Super dominate its corridors.

NEW: Solo Mode

Learn maps, practice objectives, or test builds with zero permadeath risk. No traditional progression - a pure sandbox.

NEW Item: Rescue Beacon

Single-use consumable rescue beacon for when things go wrong.

NEW Currency: Merits + Weekly Assignments

The economy was overhauled: merits are a secondary currency earned via weekly assignment tasks.

NEW: Achievements, Tutorial & Training Range

A full achievements system, an onboarding tutorial, and a training range to practice weapons.

Responder Customization

New cosmetic customization options for your Responders.

Balance Changes & Wipe

Difficulty Rework

Casual is replaced by Beginner (timed respawns), Classic becomes Normal (objective-based respawns), and Hard & Nightmare are significantly more punishing.

Progression Wipe + Veteran Rewards

Account progression was reset for 1.0. Early Access veterans received exclusive rewards based on their previous progression level.

Firearms

Firearms now have a chance to spawn with varying amounts of ammo inside them based on difficulty.

Melee Combat Rebalance

Damage is now X/Y/Z (Quick/Strong/Charged). Normal zombies have 100 HP, Shamblers 70, Primes 130. Slashing weapons deal 5/10 stability damage, one-handed strong attacks start 10% faster, charged 20% faster. The Mallet replaces the Small Pipe as the default melee and moved from Tier 2 to Tier 1.

Skill Pool Changes

Added Handgun/Rifle/Shotgun Reloading. Removed Averaging, Guts, and Teddy Bear.

Map Updates

All maps received updates, including Beaulieu Hospital, Power Plant, Lewiston, Broadway, and Pottsville.

Coming back after the wipe? Your Early Access progression was converted into exclusive veteran rewards - check your account the next time you log in. New players can jump straight into Beginner difficulty (formerly Casual) with timed respawns.
